The guiding concept for this adaptive reuse project in Istanbul's Bostancı neighbourhood was to preserve the mansion's historic identity while adapting the architectural and aesthetic sensibilities of the Ottoman period to contemporary living. Shaped by traditional construction techniques and the architectural planning principles of the period, the design highlights forms, colours and rich decorative details characteristic of Ottoman architecture. Stained glass, hand-painted ornamentation on ceilings and walls, and marquetry furniture reinterpret the elegance of the era, giving the interior a distinctive, timeless character.

Integrated with the building's historic fabric, these details establish a balanced relationship between traditional architectural heritage and the needs of contemporary life. Preserving the mansion's original spirit while meeting present-day expectations of comfort and functionality, the project reflects a holistic design approach that brings the aesthetic values of the past into dialogue with today's ways of living.
